Poulsbo Junior High School
North Kitsap School District

Several key features of this modernization included careful planning of a phased project in order to keep the facility operating during one school year while work proceeded; the conversion of a Junior High program into a future Middle school that utilizes small learning clusters; the addition of 3 science rooms and 2 prep rooms; and a thorough upgrade of data-lighting - electrical and mechanical systems, exterior siding, roofing, and other infrastructure components that extend the useful life of the building.  Construction cost: $5.5 million; project area: 61,300 sf.

The Entry and Commons were reconfigured, existing roof trusses exposed, and new lighting added for a bold and contemporary interior renovation.
